Title: Auto Tranny problem. need help

my friend's vit has the following simptoms:

wont back up when put to reverse during cold start, will back-up after 5 mins. No problem when shifting to D, 1 or 2, problem only when shifting to reverse.

has anyone encountered this?

had a 350 turbo that did that once ,change fluid and filter but not the fluid in the converter ,try it and see if it helps.

Sounds like my brothers trucklet, had
crap in the valve body, cleaned it and
it works perfect.
