Title: Sky's traction bar
Post by: flexmonger on June 17, 2006, 08:50:02 PM
Just read the traction bar write up on Zukiworld's front page. Nice looking and well thought out trac bar. But have a few questions for whom wrote it. That was a kick diff on a hybrid housing, and thus especially made or modified to fit it. Is Sky offering this trac bar to the public to fit a hybrid rear end?  And if so, why does the diff ring mount not complete the ring full circle, but split in half?

Sky's will make the trac bar to work with a stock samurai axle or the track/kick axle.
and They probably would even make one to work with a toyota.
give them a call and ask them.

I know about the samurai and tracker housings because I called and asked them.

Whomever? Hey Joel.... :) In short, Yes Sky offers that kit for both a stock Samurai rearend and the Sidekick/Samurai Hybrid rear-end like what is on project Hermey. Give him a call I'm sure he could get you one out before Naches this weekend. :)

Your second question about being split in half. I'd ask Sky but my take on it is that it is there for convenience so you don't have to take the driveline off for install.

I s-curved two rear springs and peeled back my spring mounts right off the axel climbing out of Rimrock without a traction bar, so getting one installed before Naches would be a good idea if you like putting the power down.  :)

Just don't put the pedal down when trying to climb the crack and Funny Rocks.  :D

NO NO do put down the pedal when doing the crack and Funny rocks but make sure lots of people are video taping you from different angles then post all the carnage here. OOO and at Moon Rocks.

Have fun Naches is a blast.

It cuts down on wheel hop and axle over-rotation (axle wrap)
