Title: sammy ecu smokes

  My friends samurai ecu started smoking the other day, pretty bad too. He hooked up a known good ecu and it also smoked. Does any one have any ideas what might cause this

open it up and see what fried,try following it back to the plug and then see what the color code is on the wire and go from there.

if the ecu does not match its gooing to smoke like shit! theres something u can do but i forget to stop that!

Most likely a short circuit somewhere

Try the patch, it seems to help to quit
smoking, besides, it's a bad and expensive
habit.

On a more serious note, that was an expensive
test !!!  I would look into the wiring very closly
before trying another ECU in that vehicle
