Good point.
These items should be available at the local junkyard. If it's a TracKick, you might find it already taken off the engine and laying on the ground! Pick and Pull yards are your best value.
An intake can run from $35-95 and exhaust are slightly higher.
If it is a TracKick, carefully inspect the bottom of the exhaust manifold assembly on your truck. Pre '94s have a 2-pipe joint to the catalytic assembly. '94 and newer have a single pipe connection. The pre-'94s also had a tendency to crack by the branches at the top. You'll spot them immediately when you take the heat shield off.
If it's a Samurai, the best replacement for the exhaust manifold is a Thorley header from one of the many Samurai vendors listed here and at other sites. It's a quality replacement part AND improves performance! Thorley also sells a TracKick replacement, which is a bit higher in price. Both may require a bit of fabbing by the muffler shop to connect to the cat, but the required components are very stock and thus inexpensive.
If you can't find a decent carbureted intake for your Samurai (assuming that is what you have) PM me. I have two.
Hey folks , I didn't Pimp once during this post!!  ::)
