Yea, one tip!  Be careful when removing the rear bumper!  It is easy to shear off mounting bolts, tear the bumper itself and generally mess it all up.  The metal in the rear bumper is not all that tough and the bolts are apparently about the same quality.

(Does that give a hint as to how my project went?)

I took mine to a welder/fabricater and they told me that they could weld nice strong brackets on the back to allow mounting a jeep or aftermarket  bumper pretty cheap cuz everything is pretty easy to get to.

They even offered to do tubular bumpers in a way that would fit under the cover even with a lift.

For now I just put the bumper cover back on and later I will have brackets added.

I was careful when I mod'd my bumper after the 2" lift, and I know waht you mean.

The idea of welding on fixings to allow other marques aftermarket bumpers appeals to me - more research needed!

There was a thread a while back about Calmini rear bumpers and broken chassis (frame) rails.

When I put My Calmini rear swing-arm on, I had to use some brute-force - seems the vehicle had been abused a bit.

I did a complete step-by-step swing-arm installation document, but it's a 1.3 MB .PDF file (4 pages with color photo's).  Anybody want to host it?

I not what you mean I have just removed my rear bumper 4 of rear mounting bolts sheared..But were theres a will theres a way.
Took the Zuk to a local fabricator.. underneath the rear chassis members is the holes that are used to fix the towbar. a Bracket can be made that bolts onto them and a strenghning bar accross the rear of the vehicle. once that is in place there is no end of possibilities to create a rear bumper... I will have pictures soon..but this should give you some ideas.
