Title: 2" body lift replacement.... and wheely stuff
Post by: skandy32 on June 30, 2006, 11:46:29 AM
i while ago i added this body lift...

...to my wishlist. I've now finally got around to buying it, and its bloody sold out  >:(

This particular one has the bumper brackets etc, got good feedback, seemed a very good value for money kit. I only want to lift 2" worth, so is there a nearest equivalent to this anyone knows of?? I've searched about but with no luck other than 3" kits.... :(

Also, once i complete this lift, i obviiously wanna slap on some big tyres. I need some advice to the max width i can squeeze onto my existing alloy wheels. I think mine are 15 x 8".... so what would be the widest tyre i could put onto these??

With this body lift, and 1.5" suspension spacers, im asuming 32" tyres would just fit? (with some trimming)

Thanks in advance guys
Andy

Most of the stuff in their garage sale section was BDS parts that they were testing out for R&D but they decided not to become a BDS supplier.

It is the BDS 2" kit Part# 9250, but BDS wants $200+ for it.

SkyManufacturing has a 2" kit for $120

and Rocky Road Outfitters  has one too for $124 (I'm pretty sure they resell Sky's)

Take a look in the Archive

and Gear Guide

and you should be able to find some writeups on these kits.

Looks like i beat you to it ;D , just got mine in the mail today. it was the last one that they had.

Its a very nice kit. i would recomend it over sky and rockyroad. much more complete, worth the extra that they want for it.  also comes with very detailed instructions.I was quoted $300 cdn for the same 2" lift here, so i jumped on that when i seen it for $100.  I also got there coil spacers, they are a nice product to.

Boondox motorsports are very easy to deal with, and seem like really good guys, i highly recomend dealing with them.  its just to bad that they dont have anymore of those kits.

yeah. im getting a locker and 5.13 gears for the rear tomorrow, just need some gears for the front now. but unfortunatly i need to get the trans rebuilt before i can take it out, i should also get some new tires to. i sold my ford truck.  so those wheels and tires that i wanted to use went with it(was the only way the guy would take it). oh well got some extra money from it though.

From reading the list of parts included with each:
BDS is the most complete 2" kit, it includes bumper brackets, steering extension, and t-case shifter extension, something RRO and Sky don't offer, but then again, not everyone needs that stuff.

Also try Masterkit1, they sell a 3" body lift, they incorperate a front bumper mount in the front lift block, very cool.
