Title: rear shocks lower bolt???
Post by: ddevil on June 30, 2006, 06:51:38 PM
ok, what's the trick to getting the lower bolt out of the rear shock?  i've already snapped the rear right one but still can't get the bolt out to remove the shock and i've already removed the top nuts off the shocks and even the nut off the lower bolt but i can't get the bolt out.  i tried pressing it out with a c-clamp but it wouldn't budge.  i can't get to it to tap it out either.  so anyhelp here short of a sawzall???

I had to use a cutoff wheel and cut both ends of it off to get it out on mine.....

not a fun process but it worked :)

the other side came out fine, must have been less corrosion or something....

if you have a harbor freight store nearby, they have a 30,000 rpm die cutter for $20 and some wheels to go with it for another $5

i dont know, will it cut a bolt? and if so, can it do it without cutting the shock mount with it?

i sawzalled it :D  took me a couple blades for the bolt i snapped but it cut right through the other bolt like butter.  i love my sawzall.
