Title: front strut top nut...
Post by: ddevil on July 02, 2006, 10:20:38 AM
ok, i i got my spring spacers in and now i just need to flip my strut mount.  question is what's the easiest way to get the dang top nut off the strut so i can take the strut mount off?  i see that there is a big 'washer' thing that looks kinda like a nut,  but my biggest wrench is only 1 1/4"  still not big enough to fit the 'washer'.  any ideas here.  i'm about to say screw flipping them and just make a mount spacer somehow but i'm not sure that's a good idea either cause it'd probably need to be pretty straight and i don't have a drill press.  so how's about it?  how do i get this nut off?  thanks

Impact wrench, or a pipe wrench to hold the nut

i'll try a pipe wrench, thanks.  let ya know how it goes.  if that doesn't work i guess i'll have to take the strut completely off and throw the washer/nut in a vise.

Pipe wrench on the nut shapped washer, not the shaft of the strut
