Title: 91 geo tracker Front End Alignment(HELP)
Post by: Hal on July 09, 2006, 09:37:24 AM
I have lifted my tacker and now have a problem. There in no adjustment to set the tires back up. The top of the tires are laid out. I installed the calmini 6" combo kit. I was able to have the front end aligned. But the front of the vehicial was (2.5") lower than the rear. So I made a coil spacer and installed to level the vehicial. Now the alignment shop said there is no adjustment for my problem. I looked to see if I could slot the top bolt on the strut and roll the tire back up stright but there is no room to slot. Has any one had this problem before? How can I FIX? :-\

Search the forum for camber bolts.

There should be room to slot to top hole, that's what people do when they don't want to spend the money on unreliable camber bolts. I read there's enough room to have the knuckle just touching the strut body, this is typically enough for a 2" lift though.... Maybe take out the spacers, or trim them down a little, so there's only 1" - 1.5" more in the rear.

did the alignment shop use camber bolts when they set it up? did the truck sit even before the alignment was done or have you put some more lift in the rear? adding 2" onto the front after installing the calmini kit will put a lot of stress on your cv joints. i would try and figure out why the front sits so much lower than the back before adding spacers.
