Title: coils for a kick
Post by: JayN on July 12, 2006, 02:31:01 PM
i should have next week a front sami axle set up for a 3 link. i am doing the samin axle to save some costs fo rnow, as i can use my kick third up front and  i am getting the whole set up pretty cheap. my question is? what are some good coils for the front of  a kick ?

thanks, it is going into my 90 2dr.

saab 9000 springs will give you a 2" lift with the oem front axle, but not sure with a sammie axle.

you can also use Merchedes springs in the front and Audi80 in the rear, these are softer and gives a little more lift. these coils needs to be cut a little bit.

i think nissan 180 will fit in the rear?

or you can use GVsprings, gives 2" lift but are stiff.

Stock rear coils should work OK on the front with a beam axle. Suzuki quote the effective spring rates front and rear as 157.5lbs/in so stock rears will give the same spring rate as the stock IFS front.

maybe some coils off a jeep of some sort. since it's a completely custom setup you are going to do you just need to make sure you'll have the spring rate you want and you should be set

what was being used on the previous rig? stock rears may work but may be too short depending on the lift you want.
