You know? I was thinking, about the only thing you could do to a Sammy to improve it would be swap an IFS under the front...  That would be sweet, and they would be BETTER!!  :P 8) :o

that would be so funny to put ifs on a sami. it would piss so many people off. for certain wheeling it could very well improve it's capabilities though. and jimny's aren't sas, they are solid front and rear stock with panhard bar 3 linkfront and rear like what's on an 05 and up ford super duty in front only much smaller stuff since it doens't need to haul a bull dozer up a hill

that gold jimny looks like it's a bit short on space to flex with the body sitting so close to those meats. I like that blue one minus the body lift. if only I had a jimny. I'd probably quickly get it like that blue one with coil spacers added to it so it would look like it does now with no body lift

the gold one on the last pic has 38.5" boggers, mainly as a poser shot, since they are too big to flex. but 35" sits comfy under there.
Was a project for a russian costumer, brand new jimny came over from Russia to get the mods done!

Is that not SAS? I'm quite familiar with the Jimny, my gf bought one  ;D

I mean it's not sas as in it wasn't swapped, the solid axles are in there front and rear stock. sorry, that's probly what you guys meant. I imagine 35's working on that gold one quite a bit better. bet it looks mean with them

Makes me wonder if you had a tracker and a sammy sitting next to each other how much cutting you would have to do to swap front suspensions?

If they can import a smart car to the US then someone should be able to bring in some jimnys

Actually just had another thought, could you import the running bits from a jimny and upgrade your sammy?

that's a good idea. I am thinking it would be easier to make your own panhard 3 link that would be better than to go through all the hastle of getting a jimny's suspension. panahrd 3 link seems pretty cool

is it possible to import a jimny in parts and assemble it as a "kit-car" in the US?

i just wonder, because i have seen a lot of wild kit cars in pictures  ???

I shouldn't think it would be worth it, the hardcore guys replace a lot of it anyway. The Jimny is quite different from the Samurai. Despite appearances its actually pretty close to the size of a Track/Kick.
