T.T. told me this week that for $649 i can get rebuild front and rear dif cores with different OEM gears (and i asume core exchange). the gears quoted me were:
4.30:1
4.62:1
5.12:1 (stock for me)
4.88:1
i have 31s with a manual trans and was going to get Calmini 5.83:1. the T.T. gears seem easer and a good price, but which ones will go with my tires, or with 32s that i might switch to? i am no good at this gear figuring thing. :-[ i know there have been alot of gear talks lately, so if i missed something pleas point me to a link, thanks

Brent prob. thought you were talking about a samurai, you would have to buy 5.83 ring and pinions new from some place and have them installed, then sell your 5.12's.
-
If your on 5.12's already you only have a few choices left:
5.38- 91 8v 5 speed 4 door only (OEM gear)
5.62- 89 1.3 5 speed only (OEM gear)
5.83 (Calmini gears)
Both of the OEM's are probably a very rear find now days so Calmini would be the easiest and biggest advantage gearing wise.

You can send him 5.83's and pinions, and he'll still do it.

You really WANT the 5.83's.
With 5.83's and Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 31 X 10.50's at 23 psi, my speedometer and odometer are right on the money.

I think there are a number of outfits that have various gear ratio's for your needs, aftermarket gears I have seen listed are made be US Gear and Yukon Gear, not sure if there are others. Check the net, each outfit should have a list of gears for your rig they provide. Many of the aftermarket outfits are sponsors of this site.

I think these guys only have Sammie gears,
I have never seen Track/Kick gears in their listing

Yeah, they're Richmond Gears, but I believe they make them ONLY for Calmini. They seem to be plenty strong. I can't say I've had any problems with mine!
