Title: shifter problem - need help
Post by: Ralph47 on July 24, 2006, 07:48:26 PM
I have a Samurai that ran and shifted perfectly. I put the trans in 2nd, and the transfer case in N per the owners' manual, and towed it 20 miles home. When I tried to drive it, I moved the lever from N to 4wd, and it stuck somewhere in between and won't be budged. The lever will not shift at all. The front driveshaft is turning but I'n unable to move forward or back.   I took out the transfer case shifter and got the forks to line up, put shifter in and it worked for a few shifts then locked up again.  Is the shifter sheet the knob that goes into forks at the bottom of shifter?  Where do I get a replacement?

 ???

The shifter sheet looks like a o-ring seal, with the shifter removed, look inside and you will see it.  You will need a pick to reach down there and pull it out.  Most all venders like trail tough carry these on hand.

I like Hawk Suzuki Parts myself, as they usually have parts for my SJ-410.  ;D

There is a pretty good list of Suzuki Aftermarket Companies at Izook (http://www.izook.com/) down the left hand side of the screen.
