ok, i have a tapping kinda noise(sounds kinda like a rock stuck in a tire ya know? but it's not, it's been doing this for a while) i can only hear it with the passenger side window down and only after i hit about 30mph+ and it seems consistant with my vehicle speed. also i don't think it's a u-joint because i can hear it when i put the tranny in neutral(manual 5-spd) and cost while i'm going 30+ mph too. if it was a u-joint i wouldn't hear it with the tranny out of gear would i? i'm thinking wheel bearing perhaps? any ideas? thanks all...

can you pin point it, I assume its coming from rear of your rig? might be R&P gears, or check the pinion nut to make sure its not coming loose.

maybe the cv boot is torn?
-
Bad axle shaft maybe??

i thought it was more towards the front but i could be wrong, i'll have to listen more carefully today, better yet i'll make my girlfriend listen for me :P but the cv boots are in pretty good looking shape acutally, no tears or unusual wear. i had my front half shaft out when i installed my spring spacers and it didn't seem to be in bad shape itself(oh and yes the noise was also present before this too)
r&p gears eh? i'm not too sure where the pinion nut is i'll have to check an online manual to see and then check that.
thanks guys any other ideas, i'm open for suggestions...

I have a nagging supspision it is your spedometer cabel. Mine has been noisy for a while now. Have your girlfriend while driving look under the passenger side dash and pull on the cable a bit, if the noise cahnges at all or stops, you know it's your spedo cable.
I could be wrong but give it a shot.

that actually may be my vibration noise i have inside the cab but i figured out what the problem was, see my other post :P
