Title: Samurai steering? X-over vs. hi-steer
Post by: zukmon on August 03, 2006, 03:47:04 AM
Is one better for a Samurai with about 10 inches of lift(no body)? I like the SpiderTrax cross over because it does not reqire 2.5" backspaced wheels or spacers like all the hi-steer kits. What ever happened to the Calmini daul cross over?  That set-up looked trick, plus adjustable.

one of my friends had a hi-steer system on his jeep, and he only had trouble with it.  since he put on a crossover system, he hasnt had any problems.

High steer moves your tie rod up out of the rocks.

If you are just trying to fix your steering, Drop pitman, cross over, and hi steer all help eliminate/mitigate bump steer the same way, they move the steering arm back closer to parallel with the axle and let you get rid of the z-link.

I've got breeze cross over with 3.5 back spaced wheels, no issues. Might add a drop pitman someday but ...
