Post by: TysonS on August 03, 2006, 06:09:00 PM

A little grease on the ignition cable ends
to keep water from grounding the spark,
and keep the water about half way up the
door without a snorkle, otherwise water
could get sucked into the engine

A little grease on the ignition cable ends - what do you mean by this, spark plug wires - and where do you put the grease?

Yes, use dielectric grease and put it
into the ends of the spark plug wires,
plug them back onto the distributor
and the plugs, keeps water out

Well, I have a snorkel.  Tranny, T-Case,Front diff snorkeled through the firewall into the cab.  Coil and distributor coated with wd40 seems to make the water just beed right of.

drive SLOW
Hahaha, yeah, don't drive fast through water, it makes it deeper around the vehicle than what it really is. Plus you don't know what's under you, and you don't want to get hung up on that big log or rock that everyone seemed to miss but you.  ::)

My best advice is WALK IT FIRST.

If you do not then you could end up like this "Tenager" did  :'(

Needless to say - it did not make it. A total write off. It went swimming for a long time and got really wet throughout  :-X

Was not me.

The young man had just joined our club ( Canterbury Suzuki Club ) a week before and had attended our annual training day. Part of the training was specifically aimed at "driving water obstacles" and a demo through some deep water was also presented.

You just can not get through to some people LOL. I pissed myself with laughter too  :'( - tears of laughter   :D

Poor bugger, better him than me  ;) . I do not think his missus was impressed either ( she was in the passenger seat  :D , none of this -  :-* that night I bet  :-\ )
