Hi All,
I'm currently building a trac bar for my mates SPOA Sammy and I have never seen a Sammy with a trac bar  so I'm kinda  guessing how it should be mounted etc.
So can those who have some knowledge  in this(hell even those that don't why not chime in too ;D)  have a look at my axle bracket and let me know what you think.

We're thinking the bottom hangs down to low and I need to bring it up to level with the bottom of the axle to stop it fouling on rocks etc ?
What ya all think ? ÂÂ

Ya, I would go up 2.5 inches or so.

not to jack the post but where did you get the cross drilled rotors?

Nah, don't worry about that amount of hang down. You're going to have a huge long ramp leading up to it and it'll protect your driveline...
'Sides if you go up past the centerline of the axle it will not work as well.

taht is one way to do it i usually just use a leaf spring axle perch make a ladder bar and a crossmemdr for the top and conect it with a jonny joint to the cross member and 2 ubolts on the spring perch. if u use that bracket it has to come up past the bottom of the axleor make a nice little skid plate for it.

I'm not a big fan of hime joints any more i put a lift on my XJ and it had hime joints they work great off road but for on road everyday use the wearout and rattel. it gettes very anoying. i replaced them all with johnny joints the main diferance is the hime is incase by steel the johnny is incased by polyurithane.

They are standard solid Sammy rotors that we just cross drill ourself. Nothing special about them just make a template to fit over the inner with the drill pattern (find an old road bike front disc to fit over it ;) ;)) you want and drill away. But make sure you drill a R/h and L/h set as they must be directional like the one you see in the pic otherwise all the girls will want to be in your Sammy when you put the brakes on ;D

I was thinking that myself,
I'm of two minds here, from an engineering perspective it should be either side of the axle but from a wheelers side of things ground clearance is the go.
As it my mates rig I'll pass on the info to him and he can decide which way he wants to go from there.

Don't quiet get it, could you post a picture of what you mean ?

I made mine about even with the bottom of the axle tube. By having it hang down like you do, you lose the offset housing/drivetrain advantage. on the other end (front) I used a shackle that put the traction bar end in line with the two spring mounts. I now keep my springs together and didn't lose any articulation. I'll try to get a pic.
