Title: Swapping out Axle Housings
Post by: ADavis on August 05, 2006, 06:24:37 PM
Hey all,

I just purchased another aluminum axle housing on ebay ($10 + Shipping) to replace my cracked one.  I know it is still the weak link but given the funds, it is the best alternative.  My question is, are there any tricks to swapping out the housings?  Any special tools or advice?  I have torn apart D30s and Ford 9" rears before and even the rear on the tracker, but never the front of the tracker with the IFS.  Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Perty straight forward.
Unbolt the old one.
Take it out.
Swap parts.

yup did that with mine only swapping it for a gv steel unit. it's very straight forward, and takes no time at all.
