Title: 95 vitara sport 2 fuel guage not working

hi guys problem with fuel guage truck been left standing for about 10 days now guage shows empty all the time can anyone advise where any connection blocks are located so that i can identify if the problem is in the guage or the tank sender its a 1.6 single point injecter version regards alan

Check the connections to the sender on top of the fuel tank.

hi rhinoman thanks for the reply do I have to drop the tank to do this or can it be done with the tank in situ? regards alan

Not sure on vitaras, but I know its a tight fit to get in there on sammys, you might end up having to drop the tank...

pull the left rear tail light out - there is a plug behind it for the rear lights and fuel tank. make sure none of the wires are corroded. it not give them a good spray with some grease or such to protect the wires.

here's another stupid question my lights are in the back bumper how do i get them out do i push them from behind i have tried this with no joy or do the lenses come off from the front? The  owners manual seems to suggest pushing from back of bumper Haynes and chiltons have no reference to these lamps regards alan
