The Vitara in the link below is being offered for sale near me. The price listed in the ad is $3500 and the vehilcle has 40k miles. What is odd is that it failed emissions 3 times in a row and the price is way low. The last entry is from American Suzuki. Does something seem amiss about this vehicle? Like maybe it was a lemon-law return?

Hard to say, but to me, it looks like the original owner had to do "something" to it to pass emissions after a few trys. A year later, they traded it in at the dealer for a newer model. The dealer searched for any outstanding recall repairs/upgrades before they listed it for sale.

Maybe the convertor was hallowed out? Heck buy it, it's only money. Or you could canabalize it and part out the leftovers?

The last entry is simply saying that today (the 7th) CarFax checked with SuzukiAmerica and they have no open recalls on it. If you checked tomorrow it'd say the 8th.
