Title: proportioning valve?
Post by: 87tintop on August 07, 2006, 12:10:16 PM
Hey everybody, I am new here and tried serching for info to no avail. I have a 87tin top samurai with a leak in my rear brakes. It is leaking out of something about midway (more towards the rear) down the frame. I am assuming this is a proprtioning valve for the rear brakes? will I have to replace this or can I replace the seals or something? hopefully I gave enough info, I would appreciate any help I can get.

thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. the proportioning valve is on the inside framerail just behind the pax door. i could not find a way to replace the seals so i had to buy a new 1.  with taxes and all it was just under $125. Ouch yeah. try and go to the junkyard and look for a good one. i saw a couple on the site for about $35.
