I've been considering adding some aftermarket gagues (volt, temp, oil pressure) to my 96 16v kick. Can anyone tell me if there are extra taps in to the oil system and water jacket to connect to? Or do I have to install some kind of T adapters? If there are extras... can you tell me where? ??? I want to keep all of the stock stuff functional as well.

if you want to retain use of your stock guages you are going to have to make some mods for another set. most of the time the guages are only being replaced instead of supplemented. i will dig out my service manual and see if there any alternate solutions for you guage inquiry. as for myself, i would suggest a auto meter guage replacement of your stock guages. they alot more exact than stock guages and plus look alot better. as far as mounting solutions you can modify a toyota a pillar 3 guage pod to fit your kick and will look clean without tearing up your dash.

The A pillar mount was what I had in mind. Really the only stock gague that I would be replacing is the temp gague and I'm concerned that the computer may draw info from the sending unit. I've had the stock cluster out and there are WAY too many wires to just be the existing gagues and idiot lights. So anyway that is my long winded reason for wanting to leave the stock stuff alone. ;D

I was running a faze temp gauge on my 8v the sensor fit in the front by the thermostat worked perfect. Then I got my 16v and swaped everything over th only prob was now the sensor will not fit. The holes are not set up the same now I am screwed. So I used some resistors in line off the stock sensor enough to set it to the wright temp works great. And just so you know the front sensor is the temp and the side is the cut off switch for the A/C if you dont have A/C you do not need it. The faze set-up has a long probe I don't know what the auto-meter has.

i used the coolant line to the idle air control valve

Thats a nice set-up on the temp sensor I am off to get some parts in the morning. This way I can run them both. How does it work will it read ok or does it come in low and also where did you get all the fittings. thanks for the idea.

it works good that line gets hot fast

does any one with this mod have any problems in the colder weather. Mine seems to jump all over the place no that it is cold out let me know thanks..
