Of course, all the sedans are made in Korea by Daihatsu?
Somebody crappy, it was whoever was maken those crapy cars for GM a few years back, GM had 20% of Suzuki untill recently and i bet pressured em into to rebadging the crappy korean cars.  I bet the SUV/4x4's by them selves would test alot higher or we would all want to get rid of ours.  My 10 year old X90 looks alot better inside and out then my brothers 10 year old Accord.

The Forenza, Verona and Reno are made by Daewoo in Korea.  They were forced on to ASMC. >:(

I have never thought much of JD Powers' reports.  Many makers like to brag about JD Powers initial quality ratings, which are meaningless to me because I consider long-term reliability and cost of ownership more relevant.  The problem I find with that article is that it the ratings are based on the number of problems reported.  No mention is made of the types of problems.  A scratch on the paint rates the same as a failed transmission.  More meaningful data can be found in consumers magazine reports, where categories of failures are listed.  When I researched before buying my '98, the reports on Sidekicks and Trackers in the magazines were excellent.

another thing with JD Powers - when I had my Land Rover, it was consistently one of the lowest rated vehicles. Yet when looking at the complaints, the number one complaint about Discovery's was gas mileage (same with the Hummer). Hello? The sticker in the window tells you the expected gas mileage before you buy the vehicle. What do you expect when that is what you get? Somehow, I don't find gas mileage a valid complaint when it should be expected to be bad.

(certainly, there are other complaints with LR, but knock on wood, mine was always reliable, just thirsty, which is why I own a Zuk again).
