Do a search for tail light at Ack's FAQ (the link is in my signature).   There you will find an article on converting regular tail/turn signal lights to LED lights AND how to convert the Samurai wiring to the 4-wire tail/brake/turn light system.  The key component can be found at most auto parts stores.

In my '99 it was a simple plug and go.  There is a harness inside the rear interior trim panel w/ the jack.  Plug into that.  My 4-prong and hitch both came from JC Whitney.
