Title: Clutch Problem
Post by: Mapley on August 22, 2006, 06:19:58 AM
When I push my clutch in on my Sj413, I cant put it into gear.

And if i start it in gear with the clutch in it jolts forward as if the clutch was out

Any Ideas what the problem could be

Cheers

How is the tension at the clutch pedal now as oppossed to when the clutch worked correctly?
Did it suddenly get easier to push down? If it did you either broke the clutch cable or the diaphram tension let go. IF its the first, you only need a clutch cable. (easy to replace)
If its the second, you need to pull the tranny out to change the clutch.

Hope its the first, Good luck

Ya I would guess clutch cable is stretched, that would be a cheap try at it anyhow.

i just had this problem last week.  on mine the casing around the cable split open.  i like to jerry rig things so i wrapped it with a tube and hose clamps to keep it enclosed.
