Title: 4 speed auto oil change
Post by: dieselweasel on August 28, 2006, 06:01:57 AM
I have a drain plug on my 93 Kick, I let it drain overnite. Owners manual says it takes 5.3 pts, so far I put in 3.5 qts and just touches the tip of dipstick, any ideas here? I was going to drain it once more in several hundred miles before I drain a 3rd time to change the filter. Maybe the manual  is wrong? I just didn't pay much attention to the amount in drain pan.

I know my manual is wrong on some things for my samurai, diff oil capacity is wrong and some other things.  Best way is to just fill her up and see how much she takes.  Also level ground works well for this... :)

Hmmmm-

just put in the required amount this weekend in my Sammy, in the front and back, they are new 3rd members bone dry -   did you put in the recommended amount and drive for awhile then check,   or  did you just add untill it spilled out the hole . or came up to the hole.
