I just bought an 87 Samurai w/ a 4" SPOA lift. I drove it for 30 minutes yesterday in town and the transmission did not want to shift from 1st thru 3 gears easily nor did it want to drop into reverse. After I shopped for 30 minutes or so, it shifted fine until I almost got home. The problem showed again.ÂÂ
What's going on? The transmission shifted easily this morning. Could there be something heating up in the transmission aggravating this? ???
Please help me!!
Thanks, Duane

Did you check the oil in the trans ???

No I did not. Educate a Dummy. ;D Where do I need to look for the oil? Will I need to drop the transmission?

There is a plug on the side, about half way up,
oil should be at this level, or at least you should
be able to stick your finger in and touch it.
You might want to start with draining and refilling
the trans, most people never change Man Trans
oil, it just gets used and used and used.
