Title: Broken inside door latch
Post by: echojeff on September 04, 2006, 10:14:44 PM
My inside door latch "benzel"? broke, and now I have to carefully manuipulate the lever to open the door.  Will this "benzel" interchange from any model or does it have to be exact?  I have a 95 JLX.  I know that part of the door panel is diffrent on the JX, but are the latch parts the same?  know of any for sale?

From what i've seen, they're the same for the 2 and 4 doors from 89-95 at least.

I bought a new one a few years back for just $10.  I might have bought it on ebay, or maybe a chevy dealer online.  It was cheap though for the whole handle assembly.

I believe they interchange. If Hawk Strictly Suzuki can tell you for sure and have one in the mail heading your way in the morning. Give them a call |removethispart|@ 1-888-SAMURAI

Fixed it for now.... I took the one off the back door, and put in the front door! :)  I will call hawk tomarrow, thanks for the suggestion.

I used a product called Devcon Plastic Steel Putty to fill the inside of the door handle.
Got sick of replacing them used it on the inside drivers and rear outer door handle.
No more breakages. Great product.
