Title: Lock-Rite for Samurai front axle
Post by: Sammy N Austin on September 06, 2006, 02:51:48 PM
I have been advised that a Lock-Rite Locker for the front axle of my otherwise stock 88 Samurai is the way to go. His reasoning is that in 2WD with the hubs unlocked it will have no effect on steering and will be quiet on the road. When the hubs are locked in4WD it would help pull the vehicle up and over obstacles.

What are the pros and cons of Lock-Rites front or rear or both?

I would love to install ARB Air Lockers front and rear, but they are prohibitively expensive.

It will make it difficult to steer when in 4WD which would be amplified by larger tires.  I'd recommend you add power steering if you put a lockrite in the front.

Ya my friend has one in the front of his sammy,  hard to turn when wheeling.  Tracker/Sidekick power steering conversion one of my friends did locked front and rear... real nice!!!
