Howdy all, I just installed a calmini body lift on my 94 tracker. It seems that I have a weird vibrating-clunking sound from the floor board now. I checked all body bolts and they are all tight. All hard lines and exhaust are all tight.Susp components are all tight. I am guesing u-joints or maybe the 5 speed tranny? I did notice I have a torn cv boot on the driver side. Whould a dry cv make noises just driving around town? My friend told me that on all body lifted vehicles they all make crink and pop noises all the time. What About the tranny?
Thanks TJ

My body lift doesn't make any noises and I think most do not.
Try taking the rubber boots off of the transmission shifter and the transfer case shifter. That way you can see if the shifters themselves are rubbing or clunking into the body when you are driving. Then you can decide what is causing that, a bad mount or just the shifter itself. Someone here will know if the calmini kit takes care of that.

the body lift shouldnt make any noise esp not with the ones that are offered for trackers since most of them mount as if it was a factory thing (not hokey lol) if id does make a poping noise it would be the body cupping around the moust :o cough big dodges =-P lol
id bet its the shifter like jimiweld said. if thats not it maybe give a discription of when the noise accours says turning or at 55mph or going over a bump and turning left something like that
hope you get it fixed soon so you can beat on it =-) hehe

I would suspect the shifters hitting the floor as well. When you body lift a vehicle, sometimes the shifter holes aren't in the right spot or opened up big enough anymore and the shifter hits the edge of the hole....

Ok, I checked the shifters and they are ok. I can drive it without any shifter boots or console, put it in neutral, kill the engine and just coast to a stop and it makes the noise.
kinda like a growling sound with a viberation under my feet.(not like a bearing, but like something rubbing on the body or drive train) But get this, if the road is smooth it is ok,Once the road is a little bumpy it realy does it.
Im lost,I consider myself a fairly good mechanic, but I am lost on this one.
Would old dirty gear oil in my fron't diff and trans/t-case do this? or low on gear oil

If it were any of the problems you listed, you probably would have noticed them before the body lift, I'd assume anyway...

nope just after the lift ,I did wheel the crap out of it 2 times though, I am trying to see if the body lift is part of the problem or the problem.
Thanks Tj

Under your feet rumbling??? Maybe the exhaust is rattled loose or the heat sheild is busted a bit.
My Tracker sounds like this most of the time (when running of course) but, maybe the mount is broke or something and rattleing it while moving? ???

Ok I feel a bit retarded now, I think the sound is coming from the bottom of the door rubing on the upper rocker panel. I bashed it in on a rock early in the summer and have had my doors off since. Installed the body lift, put doors back on bingo there is my vibration rubing ,poping sound.
