Went to start my tracker today and she wont start.
I turn the key and the engine light, and oil light just turn off like
the battery is dead. Headlights dont work either. When I let go of the
key the lights slowly come on very dim and slowly become bright again.
Now it also makes a weird clicking noise. when the lights start to come
back on it clicks very slowly and as the lights get brighter it clicks
faster until the lights are full brightness and then it stops. I did
manage to push start it but as soon as I shut it off it wont start
again. I tried to jump start it with no luck and the battery has plunty of power... any ideas?

try cleaning your battery terminals ;)
-
That was the first thing I tried.

maybe you have a bad ground somewhere? have you checked at the starter?
maybe its just time for a new battery. you can take it to most places that sell batterys , and they can do a load test on them.
-
make sure you are getting 12 volts to your starter and check while someone is trying to start it
-
i know this will sound silly, but my friend had a starting issue... checked and had a blown fuse... replaced it and it started right up... not sure what fuse it was though...
-
i had that problem once, took the starter to checker and it blew their breaker. shut down all the lights and computers. i laughed. then they gave me a new one.
-
sigh I wish I knew how to work on cars. this is hopeless :'(

Sorry for such a long delay in posting, I finally have spare money to get her fixed. I had the battery tested and they said its good, I described what was happening to the guy at checker and he thinks its the alternator. So tomorrow Im having a friend take it out and ill get a new one. I really hopes this fixes the problem, I hate to see the poor thing sitting there for so long.

well its not the alternator or the ground. Im out of ideas and im moving, might just leave it sitting there and let them tow it.
