Title: rattling/grinding noise from tranny
Post by: toomeymd on September 24, 2006, 11:38:13 AM
Tranny is making a funny noise, kind of a rattling, grinding sound, like a thin piece of metal is rubbbing. But doesn't always do it, mostly at idle. Could it be that thin plate that goes in between tranny and engine? Can I run it without it?

Hey toomey are you selling your tin top on ksl? The grey one?
I had that same prob on a ford ranger and it was the metal between the engine and tranny.
I think all it is ther for is to help keep debri and crap out of there.
I just checked to make sure it was tight and then I bent it so it would not rattle.
