Title: Check Engine Codes on '94 Sidekick
Post by: pixelator on September 29, 2006, 12:43:45 PM
My new 1994 'Zuki 'Kick JX 4x4 2-door 16v have a check engine light, and the previous owner told me it would come on in a while, which indicates an emissions situation of some sort, I assume.

Thing is, I took it in and nobody seems to have a diagnosing computer that will connect to a mid-90's Suzuki! How do I determine this code? I've searched for some mention but I guess I don't have the syntax of the word search right or something, because I can't find specifics, just vague references to some kind of fuse port and a flashing code (which my mechanic friend said isn't always accurate or telling the whole story like a diagnostic computer would)...

Help?  ???

Here's a link to article in the Zuwharrie FAQ on getting the codes . . .

The light will also come on a set mileage intervals as a service reminder, in which case, you just need to turn the light off with the switch.  I believe its 50K, 80K and 100K miles but not sure.
