Cooper Discoverer A/T's. I trail ride and have zero problems. I went with A/T's because of the ice and snow we get every Winter and they have worked fine. I will probably go with the Discoverer STT next because after a redesign they seem to have everything I'm looking for in a tire.

My current A/T's

I just put a set of Goodrich Deuler AT Revo's on my wife Montero.  They are very aggressive and have great reviews.  So far they are silent running and work good in the snow.

The stock tires on my Kick, were Deuler HT's, but I ahve run Deuler AT's since (on my daily driver 4-door).

They aren't GREAT on ice, or in deep snow.  They're so-so.

I will have a set of the new Cooper STT's on Sat. I will take some pics and post them. Won't have them mounted for another week or so.

TN Tracker,

I looked at the Cooper STT.  They don't come in a 235. :'(

They are doing away with the old style STT and replacing it with the S/T.  At least that's what my Cooper dealer told me.

Keith,

I had a set of Dueller Revo's,  good tire.  A little expensive!

Cooper has caused a little confusion with their names. The STT is available as a 30X9.50R15LT, it is an off-road designed tire and that size works out to a 29.70X7.80

The Radial STT is available as a  LT235/75R15 and that size is actually a 28.90X6.90.

The ST is available as a LT235/75R15 which is actually a 28.62X7.20.

All the dimensions were taken from the Cooper Site. Your dealer needs to research his products a little better. They have similar names but are completely different tires with different uses although they are very close in size. I have no idea if they will discontinue the Radial STT but the STT is a new product.

I REALLY like my BFG AT's. They are 235/75's, have good grip in snow and on ice, best of all they are predictable...you can feel when they are losing grip and are very easy to control when they do start to let go. I have a set of Michelin LTX's (215/75's) and they tend to let go all of a sudden...not very confidence inspiring.

Boggers!

I didn't have any problem running my old Radial Discoverer STT's on the road.

the truxus mud terain tire by swamper is a really good all around tire with great ride qulity. i would compare it to a goodyear MTR. here is a link to swampers website http://www.intercotire.com/left_index.htm

For those on a budget I run SuperSport's availible at Walmart, pretty decent tire with a good balance between grip and on road handling and noice

those bfg a/ts drive and ride nice, but wear down MUCH faster than you would hope with little offroad use...
for the price they cost i'd totally rethink buying them ever again

my dads got a set of michelins (not aggressive tread, i dunno the name) and theyve lasted him for over 100,000kms

ive got them on my sj, my friend bought them new for his sonoma and on his they have worn to like 80% in maybe a few months
the rears MAYBE if he drove it hard, but the fronts have just worn down overtime
good tires, bad wear life IMO

Sounds like your friend's in dire need of an alignment, or puts on an ungodly amount of miles in a short period of time:o

Fisrt time I have EVER heard that said about the BFG a/t's.

^^^Ditto.
mine lasted 4+ years with very little tread wear on my 1994 Tracker.  that even included a cross country move from California to Michigan...towing a u-haul trailer.  the best tire ever IMO.  i was a die hard Bridgestone guy till i tried the BFG A/T's but now i'll never buy anything less.

money wise i think the BFG's are the best all around....for just a real world every day tire to trail around in every now and again.  it gives good long wear,  excellent on road ride and traction,  awesome rainy weather traction, plenty acceptible off-road performance, and look great.

pricy? maybe.  but IMO you get what you pay for with these tires.  if people are wearing them out in 10,000 miles or in a year or 2, it's NOT the tire, it's driving habits and lack of alignment.

[edit]i'd also like to add, i don't think they are the best tire period....for a more serious off-road tire i have other tires i'd prefer.  but for everyday "normal" daily driver conditions i think you'd be hard pressed to find a better tire for your $$$[ok, end of edit]  ;D

I still think bias ply swampers or boggers are the best all-around, daily-driver tire ;)

Bah, you cut them and all the mud seeps through the paddles... you want that paddling action in the mud 8)

c'mon guys just admit the best all around are DUBS (20's) with a low profile street tire, homeboys.  stop yo frontin'
;)
i looked at those Wal-mart tires...not to bad i guess.

i just despise the factory 205/75's  they are just too darned small, and they don't go well with the body lines of the track/kick.  i think a 215 to 235 of any somewhat all terrain or mud/snow tire just improves the look of the truck as well as the performance.
