here ya go...

and some more...

So AZ I read your post and all I could think was... "idiot". Sure those were poser shots... That does not change the fact that I did drive Rattle Snake. You have often complained about exhaust location... I agree, however I am sitting 3 1/8 higher than stock. What do you expect to see in pictures? The picture where I was doing a rear dr side wheel stand isnt something some one would just drive down on just to make every one think he drove a trail... The other where I am off camber... it is hard to see but I am actually lifting a wheel a hair while making good use of my RRO rock slider!!! Sure it was a little crazy that I drove it on the trail but accept the fact that I did!!!!

Oh... and we were busy wheeling, so... we stopped to take what we thought was some cool shots...

Hey AZ, what happened to your post???

I’ll play your childish game for a second or two…
First, you call me an idiot, that gives away your intellectual level and maturity right off the bat. Maybe, just maybe, when you mature you'll acquire the social skill of how to disagree with someone without resorting to childish name calling. Second, my post was an opinion, nothing less, nothing more. I'm entitled to that. If you don't agree fine, but leave the childish name calling at home.
As for your staged shots... I stand by my opinion and experience, almost any truck/SUV vehicle could do the same. I have no idea were/what your 3.5 Rattle Snake trail is. What trail pictures you did showed were hardly of a 3.5 difficulty on which I based my opinion.
The wheeling I have done (in a stock Jeep TJ with only 31“ BFG/MT and full skid plates), we too have staged photo ops, but there was always someone around to take snap shots of the really difficult portions of people and their rigs on the trail.
You did Rattle Snake good for you, I never said you didn’t. But the GV, even with 3.8 inches of lift, is hardly a serious off road vehicle. Again, that’s only my opinion whether you agree or disagree.
As for your question of what happened to my post, I indivertibly deleted the post while trying to edit it and didn't feel it worth my time reposting. Silly me, I’m sure YOU have never did anything like that, right?
And my last observation… it took you three post in a row to get across what you had on your mind, is your attention span that short that it took you three tries to say what you wanted to?
Oh, never mind… now I’m getting down to your level, sorry.
Have a really nice day. Later…

ÂÂ
So, I never called you an idiot... I merely posted what came to mind when I read your post. As for judging my intellectual level and maturity... well that sounds like a sudo-intellectual defense to me. I replied to your post because You directly or indirectly were insulting me and suggesting that I "staged" and lied about doing a trail in my GV. You can think what you will, you can even attempt to insult me by calling attention to my intellectual level and my maturity level and even point out that you feel I have a short attention....
span....
You state almost any truck/suv could do the same... What I want to point out is that you used the phrase "almost any" If the GV is as bad offroad as you suggest wouldn't you have put EVERY truck/ suv can do that. but this isnt a question of the vehicle so much as a question of with a good driver could someone successfully wheel the GV in areas that would be challenging for it?
This is not my trail rig, it is a vehicle which I bought for family trips, to use as a work vehicle, and our all-arounder that if we found ourselves at the end of a road, we could keep going and not have to turn around.
Come to 5 mile pass, zUkTAH and I will be more than happy to show you Rattle Snake and Constrictor.
Not for the sake of saying you can't do it... just to show you the trail. When they rate trails... it is an overall rating... There were too many people on the trail for me to want to get the whole thing on film.
I could post more pics of the trail since you assumed that the whole trail is the same as you saw...
I could counter so many more of your points...
Ever meet more than 1 adult that called someone a name before? More than 3?
As for your closing... I like how you try once more to put yourself on a pedistool by shifting responsability and placing ownership on me by stating the way of being youy are refering to is "my level", then after that you say sorry. I doubt that you meant it...
I drove a trail in my gv that is rated a 3+{sometimes refered to as 3.5) trail, anything tougher would be scary in my GV. I would not attempt to do anything tougher than that in the GV. That is why I own a samurai... Would you like to tell me how awfull my samurai is next?

I think that "06 GV doing rattle snake kicked a$$! I would have love to seen the looks on peoples faces especialy the people that degrade Zuks when you pulled that off. Lets see a Jeep Compass do rattle snake ::).
Pound for pound Zuks rule!
Peace.

Being a noobie on this forum and being a true Jeeper I'd accually agree about a Compass doing the trail (it would tear its low front bumper off going over the first rock), but a Patriot (with the same lift and appropriate tires) is a different story. If your wondering why I joined a Suzuki forum if I'm an all out Jeeper - I really like the new Grand Vitara and yes I agree all older Suzukis go as many or more places as an older Jeep. Its too bad they don't make anything anymore that can complete with the new Wrangler for example off the road. ;D

Welcome to the site!!! I think that Suzuki still makes something that could hang with the wrangler... but we don't get it in the states!!!! :-[ >:(
Brands aside.... The best trail rig is the one that gets you over an obstacle!!!! And I like my samurai for that!!!
-
GO YANKEES! ;D
Sorry. Everyone play nice, or I'm taking my toys and going home. :P

Nice shots.
The GV should be good for moderate off-roading. Otherwise they might as well base it off a front-wheel-drive car chassis, like the XL7.
I sold cars one summer back in 1986. The dealer bought a few dozen Samurais as a novelty item. But I read the training materials, and Suzuki clearly designed those things for awful third-world conditions. I don't image they've lost that knowledge over the years, especially since they continue to have a strong presence in places where off-roading is a requirement, not just recreational.
Is the GV sold in those countries, and if so how does it tend to be used and hold up?
