My Sammy has 5.12 diff gears, Can I change this to 4.62 diff gear? How I can do that?
Wich is the diference bettwen 5.12 and 4.62 diff gears?
-
didn't most of the auto trans two doors have 4.62's?
-
I believe the 2 dr auto 8valves have 4.62 gears and 2dr auto 16 valves have 4.30.
-
Mike, I finally got some 4.62s, get back with me and we'll try to work something out on the swap.
-
Somebody can answer my quiestion?
-
4.62 is taller gearing (ie u go faster at same rpm as 5.12's) but with some power loss compared to 5.12's
5.12 is lower gearing, ie more torque and power but higher RPM at same speed as 4.62's
Most 4x4's want the lower gears, esp when you add bigger tires as this acts like a taller rear gear resulting in power loss....

Yes, you can change them out for 4.62s.  You will do the same procedure as was used to install the 5.12s.
The difference?  Not really sure what you are asking....???

Click on the little blue or gray (depending whether I am online or not) spot below my username that has the letters "IM" on it. Then you can send me a PM (private message) or IM (instant message).........both are the same thing, they are just named different.
