Who was the brain child that put these little screws in there holding the wheel bearing nut in place? ??? You look at them wrong and the stip out.
Has anyone replaced them with something better?

I just got a center punch and punched them and now use a blunt punch to knock them around,

They don't need to be that tight,
you might replace them with hex
head counter sunk bolts.

I know they don't need to be that tight! Apparently the person before me didn't! ;D They also had the wheel bearings way too tight as well.

The spindle nut is torqued to 55 psi. So it might not be too tight.

yea like 3 of em in Jens tracker were stripped, I gotta get her to see if theres any different ones at lordco.. something like alan heads would make more sence, or robertson.. anything but philips.

I replaced mine with stainless steel allen screws I got at Ace Hardware.

Try an impact driver, I had
to use one to get some of
mine out, then replace with
the SS Allens

Mine were all boogered up.
Soak with PB Blaster, put a sharp Phillips screwdriver in place and smack it with a dead blow hammer. Cuts the X back in them a little deeper, and breaks them free. An impact driver would work better, but I think I lent mine out.
Now to get out the |removethispart|@#$% ROUND hub nut... Working at modifying a Ford 4x4 socket to fit the smaller diameter. It'll have 2 pins when I'm done, hope it's enough to break it free.
BTW...first post, lots of good info here.

Hey its easy if they break then use a machine srew I think 10-24
but don't quote me and cut them with good electrical pliers
the holes in the center are made to cut machine screws and keep a perfect thread
I have hade one break and it worked perfect
