Title: Quick and simple way to remove 3rd members from Trackers?
Post by: AJMBLAZER on October 17, 2006, 06:27:01 AM
So what's the simplest and quickest ways to get the front and rear 3rds out of a Tracker?

Finally got the '90 in the garage and looking to do this soon.  The '96 REALLY needs those 31's.

Yep, that's about it..

On the front, you have to pull the whole axle housing, but still, it's easy..

pull the axles left and right, and the three mounts for the housing and slide it out.

So like all of my projects this got put on hold for school, the wife's accident, and then Xmas vacation.  The '90 has been sitting on jackstands in the garage since mid October getting ignored.  The last problem I had was I can't seem to budge the driver's side rear axleshaft using the old "spare rim-slide hammer" trick.

What do you guys do to get Track/Kick axleshafts out?

What all has to be done to pull the front axleshafts out of the housing?
