I have this wacky idea. I want to build a truck that has a transverse engine/transaxle mounted inline so that the resulting drivetrain would use the transaxle differential as a center differential that drrives a pair of "normal" axles with differentials.
Which Suzuki car used the 1.6 engine found in Sidekicks? I am almost positive that there was one..

In OZ it was called the Baleno. I know someone who did this with a Toyota engine for his rockcrawling buggy.

We had the Baleno too. Also we had a Swift with the G16 engine, so you might be able to modify a 1.3 transmission. I can't see why you'd want to bother, no low range and presumably no centre diff lock.

Esteem has the 1.6 16-valve. Plus a lower profile intake that fits nicely under Samurai hoods without a body lift.
