Title: coil disable
Post by: bentparts on October 19, 2006, 06:06:51 PM
I need to crank my motor over for about 15 seconds to test the oil system on my turbo, and I'm wondering if it's safe to unplug the coil lead to keep the engine from firing. Will this dmage the ecu or any other components? Thanks. BTW, the turbo tracker is about ready to run, and I'll be posting photos when it's finished.

Safest method is to disconnect the harness from the coil, If you stop the coil from producing the high energy pulse then you don't need to worry about where it will end up.
