Anyone know of a good source of front fenders (and body parts in general) for a 1989 samurai (I also need front windshield frame)? I also need the steel flares for the fenders. I see fenders for 1988 and earlier and 1990 and newer. How come 1989 seems to be an orphan?
On some to the pictures on this site I see samurais with custom black wheel flares. Where do I get these? I Maybe I wil go with those over the stock steel flares. Nothing oversized, about the same size of the stock steel flares would be nice.
I am in Canada, so a Canadian source would be nice.
Thanks.

Fenders (and body parts in general) for North American Samurais are the same throughout the model run. A '90 fender will work on your '89.
One of the best source for parts is the salvage yard. Positives: Good prices, you are recycling, you see the part before you buy it. Negatives: parts hard to find and may be damaged.
Samurai flares ar plastic mounted on steel mounting brackets. Aftermarket flares mount differently and are generally wider. A good source for flare material is the JC Whitney online catalog. You can also adapt Jeep flares (search for flares at Ack's FAQ - see signature for link) or buy Samurai-specific flares at many of the vendors listed here at Zukiworld and at other Suzuki 4x4 sites.
New body parts may be hard to come by. Do a search at Ack's FAQ for fender to find more info on aftermarket body parts. You can also visit your local auto parts store and try to locate a local business that sells vehicle body parts to body shops. Often these businesses will sell directly to a private individual for cash or credit/debit card. I picked up a '96 tracker fender that way...
Hope this helps!
