Title: A-arm brace
Post by: MKOLSEN22 on October 23, 2006, 09:13:45 PM
Ok, I like the idea of Calmini's steering stabilizer/a-arm truss kit but I'm not into the $109.00 price tag.  So,  I'm thinking of having one of the local fab shops burn and bend one for me out of 3/16" sheet.

Right now I don't see the need for a steering stabilizer on my own rig so it will be just a lower a-arm brace.  I guess that a steering stabilizer could be added later if I felt it was needed.

Now for the big question;  if I go to the expense of having this lazer cut and bent up is there any one else that would be interested in one as well?  Of course the first one will cost the most but the more that they cut and bend the better price they will give on them.

Either way I'm going to have one done for myself but I thought that I would gauge interest before I went to talk to the fab shop later this week.

I've attached a picture of the Calmini one for reference only.  Let me know what you think.

I made one out of 2x4" steel tube, 1/8" wall. I zipped out 3.5" of the 4" wide section on each end, top and bottom.

Sounds like a simple solution ther Uncivilized.  Any detail pictures to go with it?

Hey Uncivilized
How did you find it after you put the brace in, much of a difference? Was it a worthwhile upgrade in genreal?
