Could this be done? And would this be a solution to the problem of finding gears???
-
i have seen pictures of it, somwehere....

Anything can be done with enough $$$$ or skills.
Another solution may be.....trackick 1.6, trackick 1.6 2wd tranny, samurai tcase. Since the samurai tcase is divorced, it really doesn't make much sense to use a samurai tranny (IMO). You would need to make an intermediate shaft and fab up some frame mounts for the samurai tcase, of course.

Are the 2wd trannys readily available? We have extra sami stuff laying around...That is why I posted the inquiry. Seems that no one has much for tracker gears....

2wd's don't seem to be as common as 4wd's. But I do see them around somewhat regularly. I probably run across at least one 2wd trackick, every 2 or 3 months.
Are you talking tracker tcase gears, as far as no one having much? If so, I agree, I think the only tracker tcase gearsets you can get are the 4.24:1's, which are higher in cost than the 4:1 samurai sets. So if you can add the samurai tcase in for little to no $$$, then you could turn around and buy a samurai tcase gearset and still have less money invested than just buying the tracker tcase gears.

Thats what we were thinking... keeping it simple and cheap.... we have and you can find stock anywhere.
