I have rean that exact set up and took it off after a week  :o It was VERY raspy and VERY loud.

My favoriate two sounding exhausts I have heard on a Zuk is

1- MINE  ;D Yea I'm biased. It's a 2" pipe with a flowmaster muffler ( a 1/2 price flowmaster take off also works good)

2- Hagen's : Not sure of what size pipe but a Supertrap slip on (yea a motorcycle slip on) at the end of the exhaust

I payed 180 for a 2" from the cat back on a 96 Tracker.  After looking up to that point was 2" anyway so it wasn't worth replacing.  Just a standard Flowmaster style muffler and it sounds great.  Just a little louder then stock between 2 and 3K on the tac, but other then that nice and quiet.

Since it is a Daily Driver, I didn't want it to intrude on long runs.  :)

well, it isn't a DD just a trail truck right now so im probably going to cut it just after the header put in a cherrybomb and a small 2
tail pipe to the rear axle and it will be good enough.

It should be very loud but i have a stereo with a sub to cover that up  ;D

Will i have any problems with the engine running when i take the cat off?
More Power? Less Power? Run Cooler? Run Hotter?

I found that with no cat on a stock sammy I could do 90 MPH on the freeway.
Just a test to see if more power was given, I never drove that fast in a sammy ever again.
So yes you should get a little more oomph out of it.

I have heard on a buddy's zook with the 1.6l 16v conversion, a magnaflow 2" system and it sounded really good. Nice tone, not obnoxious, subtle yet it doesn't sound stock. What I really can't stand is the rediculous "fast and furious fart in a can" sounding crappy four banger exhaust, screaming it's but off down the highway and not going anywhere fast. The throttle response increased quite a bit as well with plenty of power while off the road.

ok, so it sounds like it will be pretty loud and give more power and throttle response.   Thats all im looking for, i will put the bomb in and tell ya how loud it is  :o

I had on my gfriends kick 2 in pipe no cat into a 8in glasspack and it was kind of loud but sounded decent.  On my tracker i have the cat and the stock pipe it sounds good but gets a little weird sounding at around 5000 rpms. i would like to go to 2 1/4 pipe no cat and a flow master.

I would go with a flowmaster rather then a bomb.  Most public access areas require you to have a spark arrester type system, no straight pipes, in order to eliminate the fire danger.  Just a heads up, they hand out rather large tickets up in the NW at least.  :)

regardless of the law and tickets, i think it is a great idea to have a spark arestor. these woods are our playgrounds and i would like to enjoy them a while longer. ya know?

My boss has an 87 sammie, he pulled the cat off, put 2 1/4 (i know thats to big for a sammie) with a super turbo muffler.  pretty quiet, only really noisey around 2500 to 3500 when you get on it, and to top it off, back fires pretty hard.

i would stay away from the mufflers that are going to resignate really bad. somthing about samurais, kicks, trackers. ect. they seem to hace a really harsh droan sometimes. quite hard on the ears.

Agreed,  Cherry Bombs suck out loud...

You'd be better off with almost ANYTHING else...
