Title: Samurai carrier and lock right on sidekick.
Post by: garbage!!! on November 06, 2006, 03:43:42 AM
Hey guys,
I read this article
http://www.zukiworld.com/month_020103/feature_frontendupgradeswithhagen.htm
and I want to go for it but I am not sure of the parts and mods I need.
I am going to need a sami carrier and the barrel seen here
http://www.zukiworld.com/month_020103/images/hagen_ifswork/carrier1.jpg
and the rest is the simple machining of the carrier to make rrom for the passenger side shaft.
My question is... is that all I need?

p.s. before anyone asks why I do not just buy a trail tough kit, the answer is quite straight foward...I live in Brasil so shipping and taxes added up to 700,00 so I decided to give it a try since I can get the locker for 300,00.

Yes, you can use a soup can cut down for the retaining ring, it just keeps the pins from falling out, and one side of the carrier needs to be opened up for the larger diameter axel to fit in the side of it.

Or you can just buy one already set up from trail tough

Thanks Guys,
I found a front carrier it is from a 94, will this do? is there a lock right for that?
I also found a rear one, out of a 98 coil spring sami, But I do not know if this will do, anyone? will a "normal sami" rear lock right fit?
