yes im interested in this to ,but im kind of confused on how to do it? do you need to do the axle conversion ? or can you do it with out the axles? looks to be the way to go in front to getmore front end clearance and wheelbase? this is my first kick and im getting readyto start the mods but dont want to mess it up.

It's not really a "kit" that's for sale, it's just a great modification for the reasons listed in the article. I had to read it a few times, and crawl under my rig and look around at things to fully get it,... but I'm sl0w :D
I haven't done it yet, but will sooner or later when I run out of things to do.

im also confused about the axle fabrication. I know it makes trail repairs simpler, but is it necessary with the mod?

Thanks guys, I still don't know if i get it but i'll read that forward ( thanks alot for that HotRod I never would have found it.) again and again until i get it. :)

I believe you need to do the axle's becaus they'll run short if you dont... iof you know what i mean.
Mike; how "posible" is it to make your own front controle arms for the trackick?
Because I do and don't like the widening mod tho, its fairly simple and straight forward.
But (and i don't know if it realy is an issue) doesn't the front bolt get a bit mangled with the rear being relocated?
So there's the idea of making a completely new one, spacing the wheel enough to the front and creating enough room to fit the nissan driveshafts aswell.
But than again, how posible is this?

If you're Mike you can do pretty much anything with the suspension ;D ;D Its a good question though, IIRC the outputs on the axle aren't centre to centre with the hubs so there may be an issue with driveshaft lengths again (its dark here so I can't look). Mike?

Anything is possible depending on your fab skills. Lately we have been widening at the Balljoint since the inner bolts are all becoming rusted and frozen fron the age of the vehicle. I dont have any pics of it right now. quaddawg saw it at Zookimelt. He may have taken pics. It depends on the controlarm type but essentaily we just redrill the inner hole 1 inch outward and add onto the rest of the control arm by welding on an addition that overlaps. ::) I have no Idea how to explain this... I could have done it in less time than its taking me to find the words to explain this. :-\

I've been wondering if that would work, good to know it will, but is there room to move it forward too, like to other method?
-
Not really. Weve been doing on the rockstar builds so it doesnt really matter.

I understand you Mike :). This is a mod I did years ago on my old Kick ( the black pig as it was known ). Basically I did the mod to bring the camber back.
Recently I have noticed that the later model arms ( about '94 on ) have steel on each side of the ball joint where as the earlier models only have steel on the top side of the ball joint. The earlier arms are the most straight forward ones to modify.
Basically the idea ( as Mike stated ) is to drill the ball joint holes further out so the ball joint sits further away from the chassis - causing your wheels to do this / \ a bit more. If you also drill the holes forward ( towards the front bumper ) of the existing holes the castor does more of this \ instead of becoming a little more straight up and down ( this helps your vehicle steer straight down the road ).
WARNING: If you do big lifts then you run the risk of over extending your CV's and pulling out the inners ( popping the clips ). You need to either drop your diff or fit appropriate length CV's and half shafts.
How did this come out Mike ???
