Hey everyone, I'm trying to get the 94 tracker on the road for winter but the front manual hubs were siezed (I could not move it from free to lock) so I went to the scrap yard today and found a mint tracker and the hubs move free and easy....to make a long story short I remove and installed on mine but the wheels aren't turning when I put it in 4X4, I have all 4 tires off the ground....the front driveshaft is turning and so are the axles...what gives is there a postion to put them back on I tried everything turn to free and to lock put it in gear take it out of gear????? I'm stumped any thing you guys think I'm missing????
Thanks Mike

Try a search for hubs at Ack's FAQ (the link is in my signature).
There you will find two rebuild links for the Asin hubs.
Hopefuly, they will help you with any problems having to do with the hubs themselves.
The only thing that I can think of besides the hubs going bad is separation inside one of the halfshaft boots or possibly inside the differential housing -- assuming that you have been wheeling your truck hard recently. Those kinds of failures don't happen to trucks that don't go offroad, though.

i just know, that when you take manual hubs apart you have to keep the spring in the same spot as it was.

I fixed the problem, it seem that the owner before decided to gut the inside of the hub, it was missing the gear that pushes down to mesh with the axle gear, just replaced it with the old hub I had . Working great now...thanks guys....Mike ;D
