Does your rig have A/C and what year is it. My 90 does not have it.
-
mine is a 94 16 valve and it has it but it doesn't work.
-
My '98 didn't even have a radio....just put in a cd player It does have a cup holder though!
-
My 88 Sammi's got factory AC. It must have been "loaded". Gonna turn it into onboard air cuz I never use it. 8)

my '92 16 valve 4 door doesn't have it , but a dealer told me that in late'80s, early '90s it was a dealer install option. So I went to my favorite junkyard & picked up all the pieces I need for $60. It is an r-12 unit, but when I put it in this spring, I'll convert it to r-134-a. Eveything is just bolt & plug...all plugs are already part of the wiring harness. I did pull it from another 16 valve if that makes a difference as far as brackets go.

my 91 gmc has it , my 90 geo has it, my 92 geo has it my 89 chevy does not and my 89 kick has it
-
How do you turn your A/C into on board air I have the A/c pump from a GV? What is needed to do this?

I got it and love it. '96 Tracker, A/C, Automatic, CD Player...wheelin' in comfort. ;)
-
I have it in my 98 Tracker auto 1.6 and it works fine! In fact I used it yesterday when it was 80 out and sunny. It may seem weird but I do use it when I have the top off or open to blow some cool air through the cabin when it is hot. It's just enough to cool off a bit when its 90+ degrees. I do find that I really dont have to have it and I live in Florida but it is nice to have.
-
I got it. Needs recharged. But instead of recharging, I'm just pulling everything to lighten it a bit, and reduce drag on the engine.
And to make some money. wanna buy it? ;D
-
My 95 2dr and 97 4dr don't have it but my 92 2dr parts truck did.
I gave it away ;D
Clutters up the engine bay and a PITA to work around.
-
i got 2/60 air conditiong,
2 windows down doin 60

My 92 Kick has it. My 95 Tracker has it. Hubby's 88 Samurai had it but he converted to on board air. I hardly ever use it in my trail rig but its nice to have when ya need it!

1995 4 door 16 valve..
I've got it.
And I use it. (I love wheelin' in the heat of the summer when all the other guys around me have no doors or no a/c.. It's like being spoiled..)
-
I had it but yanked it, now it's just window powered a/c with a wet towel on the back of my neck.... ~ CZ
-
I have it, but I prefer to use Heather's Bikini, instead...

Brothers 88 has it. No idea if it works or not, the heater blows out enough cold air as it is. :)
-
My "04 Tracker ......oh forget it ::)
-
My 87' sammi had it before i yanked it when i put in a new stock engine in ... i figure its a soft top... if i want air, i go down hill... with a tail wind!
-

My thoughts exactly. ;D I'm not one bit embarrassed to be cool and clean while everyone else is sweaty and dirty. 8) I will sacrifice what little drag it puts on my engine.
-
My 91 Tracker had AC, but no PS.
My 90 LSi is the same way.
And I don't think my 89 softie had any extra options.
-
My 96 Tracker has it. Thought about converting it to onboard air, but my wife put a stop to that idea. ;D
Gotta keep the wife happy.
-
My 97 sidekick 1.8 has it. even has keyless entry stock!

80 DEGREES!!!  :o
Here in MinneSnowta we have -5 Deg F with a -25 deg F windchill.  Our HIGH temperature for tomorrow is supposed to be -5 degrees F with stronger winds!  Meaning MUCH COLDER windchill tomorrow, and it's NOT going to get any warmer!
-
Well curiouskid you jinxed us now. We've had 80 temps all week and now we are getting a cold front just cuz of you. Supposed to get down to 60 tonight and maybe 45 tommorrow night and only in the mid 60s in the daytime for the weekend. THANKS ALOT FOR THE BAD MOJO! ! ! Not to rub it in or anything but we did go out topless for the evening cruiz tonight. You gotta give Florida a try some time! ! !
-
My 95 Tracker has AC and I use it almost every day. My Tracker is a tintop and heats up sitting in the sun. The AC cools it down quickly. Florida is nice in the winter, but in the summer you would have to be crazy to drive a car without AC, 95 degrees and 100% humidity.
-
I have A/C also ;D
-
Hey cocoabeachtracker,
I was surprised to find that I hardly have to use the AC even in the summer. With the top over the cab, and the sides and rear windows off and the windows down I cruiz A1A quite comfortably. I was really surprised how little I really need the AC. But like I said it is nice to just have it blowing a cool breeze on my face as I drive home all burned up after a few hours of surfing in the summer (or winter for that matter).
I have to admit one thing though; now that I am a tracker/sidekick ragtop fanatic I am starting to really like the tin top models! They have a solid rugged look!
(I bet we pass each other on the streets once in a while.)

mines a 98 and i have a/c but i dont use it
-
My '89 didn't come with a/c when it was new, my grandparents added it when they bought it in '91. After I owned it for a while, the compressor seized, so I converted it to an on board air system.
