I'm going to buy some Monroe Gasmatics for my Sidekick. Is there a specific year that you have to get or is it any 92-03 Crown Vic? Thx

I bought 91 Crown Vic rear shocks... twice ;) They don't have a metal sleave in the bottom bushing like the sidekicks, so I had to press out the old ones, and push them into the criwn vic shocks. I pressed them out using a vise, and 2 deep sockets(small and large)

Longer = more flex in the rear

They are about 1.5-1.75" longer at full extension. They're a good cheap choice for a 1.5" - 2" lift. I think they sell for about $20/ea?? I'm in Canada, so mine were $25/each

I got some Monroe "Monroe-matics" for $28 each...too bad the guys at the auto supply store gave me the fronts, not the rears!

are the shocks only good for the rear? of could you use them all around and get lift.

Shocks don't provide lift, you need a coil spacer, or longer spring for a lift. The crown Vic shocks are simply a longer option shock to accomidate the lift.
Oh: trackers/sidekicks use shocks in the rear, and struts in the front.
