well because when i got it it was just soilid round stock, so i drilled a 1/4" pilot hole thinking that a hole saw would work great, didnt work tooooooo well so i used a wood drill bit called a "forsner bit" that worked great, the stuff cut excelent, any one looking for this material i got another foot of it, real cheap ;D

I be glad to when it gets here from the great frozen north.

I can't tell from the pics, did you cut an indentation for the end of the coil?
Is that necessary?
Do the "other" spacers have that?
-
The springs are 4 3/8" outside Dia.
Stock that size should work well, could
probably go to 4 1/2" with no problems

aluminum woudl work, steel pipe with washser welded on then, dirt devil turned his from solid steel on the lathe, but it was costy for the steel, i decided to use this material because it woudl cut good and realitily cheep

Funny you should say that. I didn't tell you but it had been opened on one end and taped back. Probably seeing if it was something bad. A large, hard, heavy cylinder from Canada had to raise some suspicion. ;D
-
haha yup, good thing my name wasnt parjeet or somethin ::) ::) sending something of that shape, you woulda never got it ;D
